Exam pattern
First Stage CBT (CBT-1)
Screening only — these marks are not counted when the final panel is prepared. Minimum pass percentage: UR and EWS 40%, OBC (NCL) 30%, SC 30%, ST 25%, applied to ex-servicemen by their own community. Marks are normalised across shifts.
Second Stage CBT (CBT-2) — Part A
Only Part A is counted for shortlisting. Minimum pass percentage: UR and EWS 40%, OBC (NCL) 30%, SC 30%, ST 25%. Candidates are shortlisted for CBT-2 at 15 times the vacancies notified for the chosen RRB.
Second Stage CBT (CBT-2) — Part B
Qualifying in nature only. Qualifying percentage is 35% for every candidate regardless of category. CBT-2 as a whole runs 2 hours 30 minutes for 175 questions.
Computer Based Aptitude Test (CBAT)
Held after CBT-2, before Document Verification and Medical Examination.
