Exam pattern
Phase-I · Online objective examination
Four tests — General Awareness, English Language, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning — with separate time allotted to each within the 120 minutes. Candidates must secure minimum marks in each test and in aggregate, as prescribed by the Board. The advertisement does not publish a per-test question or mark split; it is issued in the Information Handout with the admit card.
Phase-II · Paper-I Economic and Social Issues
50% objective: 30 questions for 50 marks in 30 minutes, some carrying 2 marks and some 1. 50% descriptive: 6 questions set, 4 to be attempted — two of 15 marks and two of 10 — typed on the keyboard, in 90 minutes. If more than four descriptive answers are given, the first four are evaluated.
Phase-II · Paper-II English (Writing Skills)
Entirely descriptive, typed on the keyboard.
Phase-II · Paper-III General Finance and Management
Same 50% objective and 50% descriptive structure as Paper-I.
Interview
Candidates may opt for Hindi or English. A Personality Assessment is conducted beforehand but carries no marks and does not form part of the selection criteria. Final merit is Phase-II marks plus interview marks.
