A one-hour Preliminary paper of 100 questions and 100 marks with no sectional cut-off, used only to shortlist roughly ten times the vacancies. The Main examination is a three-hour objective paper of 170 questions and 200 marks across four separately timed sections, followed immediately by a 30-minute descriptive paper of 30 marks, for a grand total of 230 marks in three and a half hours. A Psychometric Test, Group Exercises and Interview follow. One fourth of the marks assigned to a question is deducted for each wrong answer in both phases.
